Jobs in Katowice: metalwork, welding and Silesian warehouses
Katowice is the heart of the Silesian conurbation, where towns run into one another: Ruda Śląska, Psary, Strumień. The region has been industrial for generations, and the listings show it — there’s more metalwork and skilled-trade work here than almost anywhere else.
For skilled workers
- Welders — MIG/MAG in Strumień (from 7,500 zł a month) and stick welding of large-diameter pipes (34–38 zł net);
- steel-structure assemblers — 30–38 zł net per hour;
- UDT overhead crane operator at a steelworks — 37 zł gross;
- rebar workers and trainees in Ruda Śląska — from 35–40 zł net with free housing.
If you have welding experience, Katowice is one of the best places in Poland to start. See welder jobs.
Unskilled: warehouses and production
Warehouses in Psary, 15 km from Katowice, handle food (paid by output, 23.50–42 zł an hour) and clothing (sorting, packing, returns, 25–31 zł net). There’s also a medical warehouse hiring women and a confectionery plant near Katowice that needs a forklift driver. Everything is on the Katowice warehouse jobs page.
