Forklift Operator at an Insulation Plant, Trzemeszno: PLN 36.50–37.40 Gross, Housing

Trzemeszno is a small town about 65 km from Poznań. A plant here makes stone wool insulation, and its finished goods warehouse needs forklift operators. Paperwork is done on site.

Roughly 90% of the time you are on a counterbalance forklift; the rest is simple work at the conveyor. No machines to run, and everything is indoors.

Men, women and couples up to 50 are welcome. You can choose the contract: umowa zlecenie or umowa o pracę.

Main duties

• drive a counterbalance forklift (about 90% of the time);
• prepare crates and frames;
• take products off the conveyor and check quality;
• pack, palletise, stretch-wrap and label;
• enter data into the system.

Pay

• first 2 months: PLN 36.50 gross per hour;
• from month 3: PLN 37.40 gross;
• night shifts +PLN 5 gross/h;
• students under 26: gross = net.

Roughly PLN 6,000–6,500 gross a month.

Work schedule

• 5–6 days a week; your day off may fall on a weekday;
• usually 8 hours: 6–14, 14–22, 22–6;
• sometimes 12 hours: 6–18 or 18–6;
• 30-minute unpaid break;
• 168–220 hours a month depending on orders.

Housing

Houses and flats near the plant, 3–4 people per room, single beds. PLN 660 a month per person; couples live separately and pay PLN 1,800 for two.
