Food Warehouse in Gdańsk: Order Picker on an Electric Pallet Truck, Piece Rate, No Polish

Here you are paid for results: the food warehouse in Gdańsk works on piece rate, and in the same time a fast picker earns almost twice as much as a newcomer. The goods are already packed — you build orders on a pallet and drive between the racks on an electric pallet truck instead of carrying everything by hand.

No Polish needed, experience is welcome but not required. Housing and transport are arranged, and the rent is simply deducted from your pay.

Main duties

• picking orders: packed food products;
• stacking picked goods on a pallet;
• moving around the warehouse on an electric pallet truck.

Pay

• piece-rate pay: earnings depend on how much you pick;
• over 26 — PLN 22.50–38.89 net per hour;
• students under 26 — PLN 31.40–51.85 net per hour;
• under 26 without student status — +PLN 1 per hour;
• +PLN 1 per hour if you live in your own housing;
• advances after 14 days of work.

Salary is paid monthly to your bank account.

Work schedule

• 8–10-hour shifts;
• days and nights alternate weekly;
• 5–6 days a week.

Candidate requirements

• warehouse experience is a plus, but beginners are taken too;
• no Polish needed;
• ready to keep up the pace: on piece rate, speed is money.

Employment

Employment under an umowa zlecenie.

• help with getting a residence card;
• medical check-up;
• health and safety training (BHP).

Housing

Flats or houses with everything you need, 3–4 people per room. PLN 650 a month — not upfront, but from your first salary.

Transport

Transport runs from the housing to the warehouse and back.

Additional

• in the first week or two on piece rate, pay is usually closer to the lower end — routes and products take time to learn;
• food warehouses have cold zones, so a warm sweater or vest under your work clothes is a good idea.
