Roofer jobs in Poland: crews, materials and the season
Roofers in Poland are hired mainly by building firms working on family houses and small housing estates. Right now most openings are around Wrocław, Kraków, Opole and Warsaw. The work is done in crews of 3–5 people, with a foreman assigning tasks on site.
What the job involves
Building rafters and battens, laying metal roof tiles, ceramic tiles or bitumen shingles, fitting membranes, gutters and flashing. Commercial sites add flat roofs with roll roofing. An experienced roofer reads the drawings on their own, while helpers are taken on with no experience to carry, cut and fix materials under supervision.
Pay and conditions
Listings on the site offer roofers about 5,100–7,200 zł net a month or 30–35 zł an hour; helpers start from 4,700 zł. In most offers the employer provides housing. Keep the season in mind: the busiest months are spring to late autumn, and in winter some crews move to indoor work or have fewer hours.
Before you travel
Working at height requires a medical clearance, arranged by the employer. Ask whether fall-protection gear is provided, who drives you to site and how rainy days without work are paid.
