Wiring Harness Assembler, Czaplinek: PLN 25.80–35.05, Housing PLN 420, Higher Pay for Students

At a cable plant in Czaplinek in West Pomerania they assemble wiring: they lay cables on racks, form harnesses and trim off the excess. They take both women and men with good eyesight and nimble hands.

There is an interview at the plant before you are taken on, and Polish is needed. The rate here grows: after two months without absences it goes up, and students get a higher one.

Main duties

• lay wires on a rack according to a diagram (racks come in different sizes);
• join the parts, fasten with clamps and insulating tape;
• assemble wire sets for installation and circuits according to a prepared mock-up;
• lay wires out on stands, form harnesses;
• trim off excess components;
• tidy and prepare the sets.

Pay

• PLN 25.80 net per hour — the standard rate (PLN 23.08 net if your annual income exceeds PLN 30,000);
• PLN 31.95 per hour — for students under 26 (gross equals net);
• after two months without missed days: PLN 28.30 net for most and PLN 35.05 for students;
• the employer may raise the rate for quality work.

Pay is made from the 15th to the 20th of the month. An advance of PLN 300 is paid after five shifts.

Work schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8 hours;
• first shift: 06:00–14:00;
• second shift: 14:00–22:00;
• Saturdays are optional, from the fourth month of work;
• two 15-minute breaks.

Candidate requirements

• good eyesight and manual skills;
• Polish is compulsory;
• an interview at the plant before employment.

Employment

An umowa zlecenie — with health insurance only.

• a possible deduction for a short period of work is PLN 500.

Housing

Housing costs PLN 420 a month, rooms for 2–3 people, Wi-Fi and separate kitchens and bathrooms. You need your own bedding and dishes. If you live in your own housing you get +PLN 2 per hour.

Transport

The plant is a 30-minute walk from the housing.
