Machine Operator, Heat Treatment Department, Wadowice Górne: PLN 31.40 Gross, Housing PLN 750

The same screw and bolt factory in Wadowice Górne, but a different department: heat treatment. It is hotter here, which is worth bearing in mind before you agree. The employer wants people who are good with their hands and can communicate in Polish at least at a minimal level.

The schedule is truly shift-based: four working days, two days off, and the days off “float”. The site is 120 km from Kraków and the paperwork is done in Kraków.

Main duties

• set up and operate the machine (the knives are repositioned by hand);
• work with metal parts according to set parameters;
• check the quality of the parts produced;
• service the machine and look after it regularly.

Pay

• PLN 31.40 gross per hour;
• 180–240 hours a month, so roughly PLN 5,650 to 7,540 gross.

The medical examination costs PLN 250 and is deducted from your first pay.

Work schedule

• shifts of 10–12 hours, Monday to Sunday;
• a four-brigade system: four working days, two off, with the days off floating;
• first shift: 06:00–18:00;
• second shift: 18:00–06:00.

Candidate requirements

• manual skills: the knives on the machine are moved by hand;
• a minimum of Polish to get by.

Because of the high temperature in the department, assess your stamina honestly.

Employment

• work clothes and shoes are issued free.

Housing

A hostel with 2–4 people to a room, in good condition. Housing costs PLN 750 a month. Bring your own bedding.

Transport

The housing is a 10–15 minute walk from the plant. There is no organised transport.

Additional

• the plant has changing rooms, a kitchen and a smoking area;
• there are vending machines with snacks, coffee and tea;
• the production floor is noisy.
