The plural in Polish (Liczba mnoga)
In Polish, to form the plural of nouns, certain endings are added to the stem of the word.
The endings depend on the gender and on the ending in the singular.
🔹 Masculine (people and animals):
common endings -owie / -i / -y
Examples:
student → studenci (students)
przyjaciel → przyjaciele (friends)
🔹 Masculine (things):
common endings -y / -e / -i
Examples:
stół → stoły (tables)
dom → domy (houses)
🔹 Feminine:
common endings -y / -e
Examples:
książka → książki (books)
kobieta → kobiety (women)
🔹 Neuter:
common endings -a / -ęta / -i
Examples:
dziecko → dzieci (children)
okno → okna (windows)
